KANKYO DOT

Resonant Fields

EACH STORY 2026

KANKYO DOT

KANKYO DOT is
an environment for people to inhabit time.

Resonant Fields refers to
countless fields nurtured as the environment, people, time,
and sound resonate with one another.

At Gokou Ranch, the stage for EACH STORY 2026,
the forest transforms its expression throughout the day.
People gather and disperse, while live music, conversation, wind,
and light continuously rewrite the landscape.

The trees, the light, the wind, the temperature.
The presence of the people gathered there.
And the 31 hours marked by the festival.

Ever-shifting,
they resonate with each other,
nurturing a single, unified field.

This work is not a completed, singular piece of music.
Over the course of 31 hours,
it undergoes constant change,
nurturing the forest.

KANKYO DOT
places itself within that space, gently nesting alongside the time
shared between the forest and the people.

31 hours in eight chapters

The work subtly transitions across 31 hours, divided into eight chapters. These chapters are not independent compositions, but rather an ongoing process through which a single span of time continuously and gently alters its expression.

Yoshio Ojima ✕ Satsuki Shibano

Yoshio Ojima

JACCC(LA)「Kankyō Ongaku: An Evening of Environmental Music」ではデュオとしても出演し、Public Records(NY)「a tribute to St. GIGA」では Visible Cloaks とのカルテット編成によるステージを成功させた。

Yoshio Ojima is a Japanese musician and producer. He has been in pursuit of ambient music and environmental sounds since the 1980s, and designed sound environments for architectural spaces such as Spiral (Wacoal Art Center). His past works have been rediscovered, leading to reissues on foreign labels. Currently, Ojima expands the possibilities of auditory perception through generative technologies. He collaborates with Satsuki Shibano and Visible Cloaks, presenting spatial live performances worldwide combining piano, electronics, and field recordings. In recent years, he and Shibano toured as a duo across Europe, the US West Coast, and New York, appearing at “Kankyō Ongaku” at JACCC (Los Angeles) and performing as a quartet with Visible Cloaks for “a tribute to St. GIGA” at Public Records (New York).

Satsuki Shibano

Having the distinction of releasing the 3rd Wave Notation series album where the first 2 were albums by Japanese ambient legends, Hiroshi Yoshimura and Satoshi Ashikawa, and also having lived in Paris to study under J. J. Barbier before her recording debut, Satsuki Shibano is not your ordinary, Japanese female pianist. She started her recording career in Japan as an Erik Satie specialist of modern/ contemporary piano based music when Satie’s influence and rediscovery was evident in the evolution of the now discovered golden era of Japanese ambient, environmental music that emerged in 1980s.
